Last week in class, we looked at the change in telephones and TV’s over time and the shift from analog to digitial and the differences that the switch had made. Telephones switched from analog to digital in the 1990’s and when this happened people could do a lot more than just talk on them. One of the more interesting things I learned was that in 2009 the federal communication commissions (FCC) mandated that all U.S. based TV signals must be transmitted digitally. To get rid of the snow that people saw on analog TV’s they needed a bigger frequency range and disc that relied on satalites. Another interesting fact is that digital works becasue there is a fixed number of possibilities compared to analog where there is an infinite number of possiblities. This is the biggest difference between the two.
